Polar Bear swimming rounds, San Diego Zoo, California

christine: We've been keeping rather busy as of late with a home renovation project. As such, the time spent online (and thus on the photoblog), has been limited. Within the next week, things should be returning to normal. In the meantime, here's an old favorite of ours.

Back in 2000, we did a weeklong trip to sunny San Diego, where we made sure to visit its famous zoo. The polar bear exhibit was among my most favorite, because this particular polar bear was swimming laps around the exhibit's pool. Each time she neared the exhibit's underwater spectating glass, she pushed off away using her powerful paws.
