About This Site
PixelMaze Photography is the joined efforts of Christine Grabig and Simon Kirby.

We share a common history- our love of photography! We started becoming more serious about photography back in 2003, but we have both been interested in visual arts from our childhoods. Our home base is the beautiful Vancouver, BC region, but as our photography reflects, we have traveled far and wide with our cameras.

We are available for hire, with five years of professional experience serving clients. We take a photojournalistic approach to weddings, wanting to create a narrative naturally rather than forced photo shoot. Enjoy your day; we'll take care of the memories. We take great pride in our work and we work tirelessly, both on the day and after in editing. We are also available for hire to shoot portraits or events, as well. Try us!

This site has been online since April, 2006.

I never realized how much I loved photography until I joined the yearbook staff in high school. I found it quite therapeutic locking myself in the tiny school darkroom and engaging myself in the developing of class photos, with only the radio to keep me company.

Originally from the US, I finished university with a degree in Business Administration. I tried to do the whole big business career woman thing, but I wasn't satisfied. Life's too short to do something you don't love. I left that behind to pursue something I can enjoy. When I'm not behind the lens, I keep busy doing contract web/print design and consulting. I love to take something commonplace and ordinary and capture it in a new light. That's what I try to do in my photography.

Simon

I've been interested in photography and videography since elementary school, where I was making videos with friends. In high school, I participated in the behind-the-scenes production of several musicals, operating lighting and sound. I volunteered at Shaw Cablesystems for studio and on-location camera work. I became quite interested in programming, and spent a lot of timing learning about and working on 3D projection and image manipulation.

I enjoy the art and science of photography and image processing. I started with landscape and nature photography, and am gradually gaining more confidence and experience working with people. Feeling comfortable and relaxed is crucial to get the best shot. Working with Christine, we make a great team!
