In the Backwaters of Kumarakom (Kerala), India
christine: While staying a couple nights along the banks of the
Kumarakom backwaters, we rented a houseboat for a day and traveled around the narrow waterways and the connecting Vembenad Lake. Although it was here where I inevitably fell sick with sinusitus, I very much enjoyed the area and especially the spirit of the locals. Ever generous and kind, we felt most welcomed.
These darling little girls who passed by us by boat were icing on the already sweetened cake.
