Spider and its Web, North Vancouver
christine: Anyone who knows me well knows I've always been fairly petrified of spiders. I'm not sure if it's their sticky webs, all those hairy legs that move at impressive speeds, or the chance that they could bite that scares me most. Usually everytime I see one, I let out a shriek and find a way to get it far away from me, quickly. And yes, at times I do squish.
But after reading that wolf spiders prey on aphids, a type of green bug that have been infesting my pot of spearmint lately, I decided to resist the urge to shriek and squish. While I was on the phone today, I kept an eye on this tiny spider creeping along the length of a wall and I told myself to let him be. If he decided to drop down on me? Well that'd be his death wish. Thankfully, he never took me up on the dare.
