Caribbean Days Festival Parade, North Vancouver
christine: Here in North Vancouver, the final weekend of July is always reserved for the Caribbean Days festival, which kicks off in the form of a multicultural parade that passes by our building. On that Saturday morning, we wake early to prepare the cameras and head down to our favorite spot to photograph the parade as it passes. And then, as the parade never hardly starts on time, we make jokes about how 10am in Vancouver time is about 10:35 in Caribbean time.
One of my favorite moments in the parade is when I see the colourful Brazilian ladies strutting from afar wearing extravagant feather headdresses and and beaded bikinis to that addictive samba beat.
