Angel Glacier, atop Mount Edith Cavell, Jasper National Park, Alberta
The mount is named after
Edith Cavell, the British nurse who was captured by the German army in World War I for assisting allied soldiers in escaping from occupied Belgium to neutral Netherlands.
In 1915, she was arrested and executed by firing squad for her actions. Her death, ultimately, achieved her martyrdom among Allied forces and made her an important figure of the WWI era.
